A summer house in the forest near the coast in Denmark: a refreshing interior design that led to more booking requests and higher revenue

A summer cottage in the woods near the coast of Denmark is undoubtedly an enchanting place for a relaxing vacation. But to stand out in the competitive vacation home industry, you need an inviting and unique interior design. In this blog post, we will explore the success story of a summer cottage in Denmark that underwent a refreshing transformation, resulting in more booking requests and higher revenue per night.

The challenge:

The summer house, for which I was commissioned to design the interior, was picturesquely surrounded by Danish forests and just a stone’s throw from the coast.
Despite its fantastic location, the occupancy rate of the house fell short of expectations.
I realized that a professional interior design had the potential to make the vacation home more attractive to potential guests.
So I was commissioned to realize the full potential of the house.

The transformation:

A private vacation home has been discreetly renovated by focusing on the surrounding nature.

The vacation home consists of three bedrooms, a bathroom and an annex and extends over a single floor with a total of 82 square meters.

The vacation home from the 1960s is located in the middle of the forest and just a stone’s throw from the coast.
It has been completely remodeled to create a more modern atmosphere.

Most of the furniture and objects are vintage and have been carefully selected from nearby antique and flea markets.
Some of the furniture has been restored.

The colors and materials were chosen to complement the rugged nature and landscape, and a custom outdoor kitchen was placed on the terrace to extend the living area.

The effects

The results of the interior design were impressive.
The summer house underwent a real transformation, which had a direct impact on booking inquiries and revenue:

  1. Enduring popularity: The refreshing and cozy atmosphere of the summer house attracted the attention of many potential guests.
The house became a popular destination for vacationers looking for an unforgettable nature experience.

  2. Increasing booking inquiries: The number of booking inquiries increased rapidly and the Summer House calendar filled up with enthusiastic guests who appreciated the newly designed interior.

  3. Attractive prices: Due to the increased demand, it was now possible to set more attractive prices for overnight stays without sacrificing occupancy.

  4. Positive guest reviews: Guests were impressed by the unique combination of closeness to nature and Scandinavian design.
This led to a large number of positive reviews praising the summer house as the perfect retreat.

Conclusion:

The transformation of this summer house in the Danish forests near the coast shows how a refreshing and individual interior design can lead to more booking requests and higher revenue per night.
By emphasizing natural elements, creating a welcoming atmosphere and using Scandinavian design, the summer house was able to reach its full potential and become a popular and profitable destination for vacationers.
As an interior designer, I am proud to have contributed to creating a unique experience for guests to relax and enjoy in this enchanting Danish natural paradise.
