Cosiness in every detail: a living room transformation

There are times when a room is more than just a room.
A living room is one of those places – a place of relaxation, togetherness and coziness.
I recently had the pleasure of helping a client redesign his living room and I would like to share my experience.

The customer came to me with the wish to transform his living room into a cozy Scandinavian oasis.
The first thing that struck me was the position of the TV.
Instead of making the TV the focal point of the room, we decided on a new placement that allowed the room to be used in a different way.
This immediately made the ambience in the room more relaxed and inviting.

To create a warm and inviting atmosphere, we also added an open bookcase.
This not only helped to balance the space, but also created a cozy and homely atmosphere.
This was particularly important as there was a relatively closed kitchen at the other end of the room.

The open-plan design of the room presented us with the challenge of creating a harmonious overall sense of space.
Therefore, we also took the time to discuss how the clients could optimize the styling of their kitchen and dining area to make the space feel less cluttered.
We opted for some subtle accessories and organized the kitchen appliances and decorative elements in a way that complemented the open feel of the space without cluttering it.

The choice of wall color was another key aspect of our design.
With “Shaded White” from Farrow and Ball, we were able to brighten up the room and at the same time create a harmonious connection to the colors in the living/kitchen area.

To frame the view outside, we opted for custom-made curtains.
These exclusive elements, as well as the custom-made cushions, were made especially for the client and gave the room a luxurious touch, using particularly high-quality linen fabrics.

Overall, the transformation of this living room was a real pleasure.
It was incredibly satisfying to see the room transformed and become a place of comfort and well-being.
Every detail was carefully thought through to ensure the space reflected the client’s needs and style.

In conclusion, I would like to say that creating a cozy atmosphere is not just a question of design, but also of attention to detail.
It’s about creating a space that invites you to linger and spreads an atmosphere of relaxation and happiness.
